At HMI, Raquel headlines the initiative to cultivate and translate the science of wellbeing. Prior to her role as CSO and COO, Raquel served as Director of Assessment and Analytics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Raquel is also the co-founder and CFO of Robbu Group, a Brazil-based organization revolutionizing the way people and businesses stay connected.
With over 15 years of diverse scientific experience, from epidemiology, public health, affective sciences, trauma and coping, and health psychology. She received her Master’s in Epidemiology and Public Health from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Master’s and PhD from the University of California Irvine. In her previous roles, she has spearheaded projects in assessment and complex scientific research, policy analysis and strategic direction, program development and administration, and data-driven policy development.
Raquel has a strong personal commitment to bringing science to life through evidence-based interventions, and assessing and applying their results to rebuild public trust in science and to scale well-being.
