In his work at HMI, Andrew connects to customers and acts as liaison to the product development team. He is a seasoned practitioner of Design Thinking, having led teams in the design of consumer products, award-winning healthcare delivery devices and new services.

He ran IDEO’s Chicago office for seven years, and was named Partner in 2007. Andrew published Everyday Engineering: What Engineers See, a book that gives a glimpse of the world through the eyes of an engineer.

Driven by his passion for sustainability and the environment, Andrew designed several energy-related services, including the creation of a new customer experience for low-income residents, resulting in more on-time payments and significantly lower energy consumption. Andrew lives in Kenosha, WI with his family and sits on the board of the Delta Institute in Chicago.
